I have created several Mac/Windows desktop apps that use AI to do useful tasks. These are nontrivial tasks, so the AI requires a significant amount of user interaction. Also, the user must acquire an API key. (Google gives then for free, but you will get better results if you fund your key by adding a credit card—cost is almost nothing.)
